Glenview Estates Crime Watch Team

We’ve All Seen the Signs

To keep our neighborhood safe, our HOA formed a Crime watch Team (CWT). We are working with the Hickory Creek Police Department to gather information about residents in our neighborhood. The purpose is to ensure that we are aware of who comes and goes into the neighborhood on a regular basis. This information will help us assess if there is suspicious activity in the area.

Now It’s Time to Do Your Part

A neighborhood block captain will collect this information from each household.  Please fill out the attached form and give to your block captain. If you are unable to turn in your information, your block captain will stop by your house and collect it for you.

The information is strictly confidential.  The CWT respects your privacy and will not distribute your information to anyone.

Report Suspicious Activity

If you're uncomfortable about a certain person or car, record the license plate number and contact your block captain. He or she can verify if the person lives in Glenview or if the person is authorized to be in the neighborhood.

Even if you think it's a minor thing, please report any suspicious activity to the Hickory Creek Police department at the non-emergency dispatch number, which is the number to the Denton County Sheriff’s Office: 940-349-1600

Safety Tips

*  Keep garage doors closed. Use a unique code for garage doors.

*  Lock door to home inside your garage; if someone gets in your garage, he or she has instant access to your home through that door.

*  Break down large boxes for trash, for example, T.V. boxes, stereo boxes.

*  Don’t throw complete credit card or bank statements and old checks in the trash; shred them.

*  If you have an alarm system, use it. Place a security company sign in your yard and stickers on your windows.

*  If you have a child under 13 who is home alone after school, notify a neighbor you trust that the child is alone.

*  Take note of moving vans or U-Hauls that are parked in front of a neighbor's house—especially if you know that neighbor is not moving.

*  If you leave town, don’t let your mail or newspapers collect. Stop mail or newspaper service, or ask someone to collect them for you. Have someone clear flyers from your door.

*  Let the Hickory Creek Police Department patrol your house when you're out of town. It's a service they offer.

*  Not all barking dogs are a nuisance; dogs often alert us when there is cause to be alarmed. Take note when you hear a barking dog. The dog may be trying to tell you something—especially if the dog is barking at night.
